Speculation surrounding the breakdown of Woods’ union started after his car, smashed . It finished beating against the window of the vehicle using a golf club. 2009’s Tiger Woods cheating scandal was one of epic proportions. That the golfing ace slept with the 120 girls — while married with whom he has two kids — Charlie, 10 11, and Sam. It was a story that abandoned the sportsman, and captured the planet.

As it transpired, the car accident occurred after Nordegren, then 29, had texted the girl Woods was rumoured to be seeing pretending to be him, confirming her husband, the world’s most famous golfer as well as the guy famous for being a supremely well-behaved sports star, was cheating on her behind her back.

It was data that could find its way into the media. Seconds of headlines followed with shocking information about Woods’ serial cheating coming into light. It began with rumours he had cheated with New York nightclub boss Rachel Uchitel Nordegren, but shortly it emerged the father-of-two had slept with a range of girls, also had spent thousands of dollars.

At a message on his site, he wrote:”I’m deeply mindful of the disappointment and hurt my infidelity has generated  most importantly to my wife and kids.”
Tiger Woods was subsequently made to apologise for his infidelity, and checked himself into a rehab course for sex addiction.

Now, after his sensational win at this year’s Masters Championship following a break from specialist golf and several injuries, many have been left wondering what happened to the girl whose heart was broken following the scandal a decade ago

Here’s what we know:

In 2010, Elin Nordegren walked off from her marriage to Tiger Woods with more than $100 million in the divorce settlement.

According to sources who talked to People magazine, she had been left”totally devastated”.

For decades, she remained silent on the subject, until a 2014 interview with Folks where she shared her side of the story, confessing coming to terms with her husband’s self-diagnosed sex addiction and the profound pain it caused her required”intensive treatment”.

“At the beginning, you tamp down the animosity for the kids’ sake,” Nordegren informed the magazine.

“I am not going to deny that I moved through the wringer. However, I really don’t believe I thought we would wind up here. This was my fantasy, the children can have. And I believe that is exactly what they’ve got,” she explained of her co-parenting connection with Woods.

However, the road to an amicable relationship was not without its bumps.

When Woods started dating Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn in 2013, Nordegren was reportedly “furious” that he had moved on.

“Elin hates Lindsey Vonn and everything about this romance,” a source told Us Weekly. According to the magazine, things were so strained between Vonn and Nordegren, she tried to have Woods’ visitation rights revoked.

In 2015, Woods’ brief relationship with Vonn ended after he allegedly cheated on her as well.

But even after she left her ex-husband, Nordegren’s opinion of Vonn remained negative.

In 2016, Page Six reported that event organisers were asked to seat Vonn and Nordegren apart at a party during the Kentucky Derby. “The staff was being told over a walkie-talkie that Lindsey was on her way over and must be put in a different area from Elin,” a source told the tabloid.

Woods is now dating Erica Herman, who he is believed to have met during his marriage to Nordegren.

Nordegren used her divorce settlement to construct a mansion in North Palm Beach, Florida, according to People. The beach-side home, which has nine bedrooms, a home theatre, mini-golf course, and pool, was reportedly put on the market last month for a staggering $66 million, reports The Sun.

The 39-year-old has been linked to billionaire and coal tycoon Chris Cline in recent years, but it seems to be an on-again, off-again relationship. While they reportedly split in 2014 after a year of dating, they were spotted together again in Switzerland in 2016. Cline owns multiple coal mines and is reportedly worth $1.86 billion.

As for her current relationship with Tiger Woods – despite her absence from the Masters Tournament where her kids were present in support of their dad – the two are apparently “close friends”.

Woods told The Late Show host Stephen Colbert in 2016: “It becomes two simple things, okay? We have Sam and we have Charlie. And we love them so much that we are going to whatever it takes to make that work. That’s how it happened,” Woods, 43, said.

And it seems Elin Nordegren feels the same.

“I have moved on and I am in a good place, ” she told People in 2014. “My relationship with Tiger is centred around our children and we are doing really good – we really are – and I am so happy that this is the case, he is a great father.”
